It's the Saturday tea dance and the group are all here today

Aches and pains forgotten, dance the afternoon away

Foxtrots, quicksteps, waltzes, some are slow but some still nifty

With memories of how it was way back in 1950

Gabby's in the kazi and he is struggling to pee

He's got trouble with his waterworks and likely to miss his tea.

David W's got a new love that he met on Southwater Heath,

She does a lovely tango but she hasn't any teeth.

David's fancy footwork nearly broke his new lovers neck,

She mistook his outside swivel for a travelling contra check.

Di's had her hair done and she's ready for the saunter-

She had a vindaloo last night and it's coming back to haunt her.

Florence's mini skirts revealing when she's spinning in the jive

She really shouldn't wear a thong cause she's nearly eighty five.

They've had their tea, cake and chat and had a great long laugh

And gamely rose with creaky knees from their chairs to face the second half.

Robbie's made it back in time for rumba number one

His cucaracha's very neat but he has left his flies undone.

Vera's fallen over in a massive crumpled heap,

Dennis has got indigestion and his Diane's fast asleep.

It's last waltz time and their up for Humperumpadink's old famous tune,

And then "goodbye, good luck, take care,G-d willing and hope to see you soon.

Thought you guys would like some more rubbish so I send it all to you...adieu

and Shalom from Gabz.

Just 24 lines to say I'm living

That I'm not among the dead,

Though I'm getting more forgetful

And mixed up in my head.

I've got used to my arthur itis

To my dentures I'm resigned,

I can cope with my bifocals

But ye G-ds I miss my mind.

Sometimes I can't remember

When I'm standing by a stair,

If I should be going up

Or just come down from there.

And before the fridge,so often

My mind is full of doubt,

Now did I put the food away

Or come to take some out?

So remember I do miss you,

And wished that you lived near.

And now it's time to post this

And say goodbye my dear.

Atlast I stand beside the postbox

And my face is surely red,

Instead of posting the letter to you

I've bloody opened it instead!..bah!!!

That's all for now folks! (with kind permission of Walt Disney)

Chou to you all..Gabz

There is nothing the matter with me,

I'm as healthy as I can possibly be,

I have arthritis in both my knees

And when I talk,I do with a wheeze.

My pulse is weak, and my blood is thin,

But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in.

Arch supports I have for my feet,

Or I wouldn't be able to walk in the street,

Sleep is denied me night after night,

Yet every morning I find I am alright.

My memory is failing,my head's in a spin

But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in

The moral of this as my tale I unfold

That for you and me who are growing old,

It's better to say "I'm fine" with a grin,

Than to let folks know the shape we are in.!
